FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions leaders and event organizers ask most about working with LeadingCyber.

01

Working together

Who does LeadingCyber work with?

Executive teams and boards that need clarity on cyber risk, organizations planning events and training, and security professionals growing into leadership roles.

How do I get started?

Book a free 30-minute discovery call. We'll talk through your situation, and if there's a fit you'll receive a written scope with outcomes, timeline and fees before any work begins.

Do you work virtually?

Yes. Advisory, coaching and many speaking engagements happen virtually. On-site sessions are available for workshops, board meetings and events.

02

Executive advisory

What's the difference between cybersecurity consulting and a virtual CISO?

Consulting is project-based, such as an assessment, a roadmap or a board report. A virtual CISO is ongoing, part-time leadership that owns your security program over months.

Do you work with small and mid-sized organizations?

Yes. Many organizations need senior security leadership but can't yet justify a full-time CISO. Every engagement is scoped to your size and risk.

Which frameworks do you use?

Usually the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, with PCI DSS, SOX controls or privacy requirements layered in where they apply.

03

Speaking & training

What topics does Lee speak on?

Cyber risk leadership for executives and boards, building security budgets the business will fund, cyber resilience, and the path from practitioner to CISO. Every session is tailored to your audience.

What formats are available?

Keynotes of 30 to 60 minutes, half-day and full-day workshops, panels and fireside conversations, and live virtual sessions.

04

Leadership development

Who is leadership coaching for?

New security managers, directors and senior managers, aspiring CISOs, and organizations that want to grow security leaders from within.

Do you offer team programs?

Yes. Team and cohort programs develop groups of security managers or high-potential staff, tailored to your organization's goals.
